Video – Icy Driving in Portland, Oregon

The recent blast of wintry weather to the Pacific Northwest brought snow and ice to an area that normally has a mild winter.  These conditions proved treacherous for many drivers and schools throughout the area were cancelled for days on end (some even as much as a week!).

Check out the following video, posted to King5.com, a Seattle area news station, on January 16, 2007.  This home video shows several car collisions in Portland, OR outside of Elementary school teacher Derek Porter’s apartment.  He witnessed 15 different car collisions and caught several of these on video.

Beware of the combination of icy roads, hills and Pacific Northwest drivers unaccostumed to driving in such conditions!
