Designer Christopher Duffy presents his amazing Swing Table, created for Duffy London.

Putting a little extra fun into dinner time and boardroom meetings, this four poster table uses its structure to suspend a central GEO lampshade and eight hanging chairs that sway playfully.
This design creates an exceptionally divergent experience and aesthetic, creating a room within a room, with chairs that float around the table, it also makes vacuuming a breeze.

The Swing Table is made from Walnut from Stewardship Council managed forests and other controlled sources and powder coated mild steel. It is available in bespoke finishes and sizes and is priced at £6,895. For more information, visit Duffy London.

Biplane Engine Table

What do you do with a spare World War II biplane engine? Make it into a functional art like this coffee table. Currently on display at Decoratum Gallery in London, the Cylinder Radial Engine Table is made from a US Army Boeing-Stearman PT-13 engine acquired from the Canadian Museum of Flight, Langley, British Columbia. Constructed between 1936 and 1938, the innovative piece features a simple clear glass top so you can see through to the complex engine workings below.

The iPad Conference Table

DuPont, which is known for its designer furniture made of Corian fiber, has created a conference table with a futuristic design, integrated with technology for using iPads. With 16 docking stations which help in securing the iPad and preventing the theft of the same, this conference table comes in a variety of shapes and colors depending upon the requirement of the customer.

Whether it is a video conference or a congregation where one may need to display a presentation to a large audience, the Multi Table is the perfect option to choose from among hi-end conference tables. With its accompanying chairs, it fits very well in office environments which have a modern décor to create a situation where the world could be bought under one roof and the flexibility to multi-task without using too many gadgets.

Digital TRON House to be built

During Milan Design Week next month (April 11-17, 2011), Disney will partner with Corian to recreate the glassy, futuristic set from Disney’s Tron Legacy that captured better reviews from design writers—who were naturally enchanted with production team’s use of midcentury furniture—than the movie itself did from critics. Check out renderings here.

The Balloon Bench

Balloon Bench
Visually inspired by the feeling of floating that the main character felt in the French movie, “Le Ballon Rouge” (1953), Japanese design firm h220430’s Balloon Bench appears as if it’ll float up, up, and away! This fun take on a bench would be a great addition to your living room or perhaps an office waiting room. The plastic balloons high anchors in the ceiling to support the bench and the weight of you and your friends sitting on it. It’s a pretty cool idea.
